About Julie

Hi, I’m Julie. And I’m mildly obsessed with making life happier.

I’ve spent years studying what actually makes people happier, and years building businesses, which, as it turns out, are not unrelated subjects. Every business owner I meet is chasing roughly the same thing: work they’re proud of, enough money to breathe, and a life that doesn’t get squeezed into the gaps.

What gets in the way is rarely ability. It’s load. Too many decisions, too much repetition, too much of the business living inside one head. So I got interested in anything that takes weight off, and that’s where AI came in.

I’m not here to make you an AI expert. I’m here to make your week lighter.

Three stories that explain everything

How I ended up here, in three moments

What if it was easy?

An early mentor asked me this question so often I could have thrown something at her. Because some parts of business simply did not feel easy. They felt heavy and relentless, and being told to imagine ease didn’t shift the workload.

Then I started using AI properly and realised she’d been half right. “Easier” wasn’t only a mindset thing. It could be an actual, practical, this-took-four-hours-and-now-takes-twenty-minutes thing.

Sometimes the problem isn’t your mindset. Sometimes the system is too heavy.

From content guilt to an hour a month

For years, content was the thing I felt permanently behind on. Not because I had nothing to say, I have far too much to say, but because turning it into posts and emails ate whole days I didn’t have.

Once I taught AI how I talk, what I believe and who I’m talking to, content stopped being a guilt trip and became a job I could sit down and finish. Same voice. Same opinions. A fraction of the time.

Ten minutes a day changed the size of my life

I didn’t learn AI on a course or a retreat. I learned it in ten-minute slivers, most days, for months. Small, unglamorous, slightly rubbish at first.

Those ten minutes changed what I thought was possible, not just for the business, but for the size of the dream I was willing to admit to. That’s the bit I want for you.

Even ten minutes a day counts.

A coastal walk on a bright afternoon, the sort of thing time back from AI buys you

Consciously creating happiness

Happiness and ambition are allowed in the same room

I don’t think you have to choose between a business that grows and a life you like. More success should create more possibility, not less joy.

So yes, we’ll talk about prompts and time-saving and getting visible. But we’ll also talk about what you want the extra time for, because that’s the whole point.

I lend you my energy. You dare to dream.

Properly qualified, still non-techy

Google AI Professional Certificate

I keep learning so you don’t have to wade through it. In March 2026 I completed the Google AI Professional Certificate, seven courses covering AI fundamentals, brainstorming and planning, research, writing, content creation, data analysis and app building.

It means the shortcuts I teach are tested and current. It also means I still refuse to talk to you in jargon.

In their words

What people say after working with me

Julie is a remarkable person, who not only shares unfathamable knowledge but manages to do it with humility. She treats everyone as equals and believes that everyone is entitled to know everything that she knows. She is very encouraging and has given me confidence to continue on my journey. Julie creates a safe space for us to understand when we are not fully aware, she is inspiring and sees the positive in all of us.

Lesley ShipleyClient review

Julie has taken me from complete overwhelm and no idea of where to start with my small business to being completely clear headed with a specific plan to move forward. She has given me back the joy and enthusiasm that I once had for my business idea and the community that Julie has built up is friendly, encouraging and supportive too. The Happy Business Company is well named and definitely lives up to its title.

Julie’s workshop on AI was fascinating! I had a bit of knowledge prior to the sessions but I didn’t know it was capable of this level of magic. Julie delivers the training with so much energy. She’s relatable, encouraging, genuinely wants people to be happy and successful. Thank you so much, Julie!
