1)  Can you give me a bit of background/intro to you?

Hi, I am Jorbay Koroma a primary school supply teacher and live in London.  I have 4 children, 2 girls and 2 boys.

I’ve liked art and being creative since childhood.  I was always making clothes for dolls and gardening when I was younger.

2)  How did you find out about the 5-day Happy Side Hustle challenge?

I found out about the side hustle challenge through a sponsored advert on Facebook.

3)   Why did you decide to join?

‘Make money out of something you enjoy doing and monetise it for other joyful things’ stood out for me.

4)   How did the tasks make you feel, how was the challenge day-to-day and overall?

The tasks were step by step, giving me an idea of what I want to do. It made me feel happy doing the tasks.

The energy brought was great and I looked forward to it each day, with anticipation of the next day.  I loved the beginning when we all got our notepads and took a picture and the overall sense of community.

5)   Would you recommend it to others and if so, which type of person do you think would benefit/enjoy it?

Anyone wanting a second income by doing something joyful, I would recommend to them.

I had no confidence in starting a business before and this was a safe space and I didn’t think anyone in the group would laugh at my ideas. We felt free to share ideas of what we wanted to do.  Julie’s positivity and energy helped build confidence and she supported me and the group.

6)  What is your final side hustle idea?

Selling artificial flowers in artificial water, in a recycled glass jar for £24.99 each, plus postage.

Check out Jorbay’s gorgeous flowers here:

7)  What is your next immediate challenge for the next month or so and can we check back in with you to see how you are getting on?

Next, I am setting up marketing/website and to advertise and make sales.  My Etsy shop is up and running.

Yes please check back in with me to see my progression.

8)   Did you join the Mastermind and if so how is that helping and how will it help in the future?

Yes, I joined the mastermind.

It guides you through the steps so you don’t get overwhelmed.  It gives you signposting and direction.

Julie tells us what to do and we can ask her.  It’s all laid out for you and you build up the steps including those on logos, policies and government websites which enlightened me. The implementation week came at a good time as it was serious and heavy stuff the week before so it meant we could take a breath.

It’s amazing.  I have met incredible people along the way who empower one another and don’t judge.  It’s uplifting to forge ahead and you are free to be your authentic self.
